TEAM COCO 4 EVER

Ever since I can remember I've watched The Late Night Show with Conan O'Brien. I used to stay up on weeknights and watch it on NBC Europe (with a 3 day delay). Screw Jay Leno, he's just some fat dude with a weird chin who's not even funny. The only sketch of his I ever liked was Jay Walking. ANYWAY, back to Conan. So since Late Night he moved onto a short lived Tonight Show and now he does whatever the fudge he wants on Conan. Sad he's not in NY anymore but thats just the way it is! During his time off from Tonight Show to Conan he went on a national tour which I wish I could have seen (tickets were sold out, I actually happened to be in ny at the time) Check out the trailer for this documentary which followed him on tour.

Oh yeah, I also found out from listening to my Team Coco podcast, yes there is such a thing, that they hire interns all year round!! Ahhhh... they hire around 40 every 3-4 months. John Krasinski was once a Coco intern! Watch me, I will make it! Who knows what will happen...


(On a side note I've been a total library geek and have been studying non stop everyday and will be till June 1st... then I am going on a crazy rampage people!!!)

NAPOLEON IS BACK

 "This is pretty much the worst video ever made"... NOT.

I wasn't even aware an animated series version of Napoleon Dynamite was coming out! I wonder if it will become a phenomenon like the movie did 5ish years ago? I was obsessed with that movie, must've watched it at least 30 times. Also, the original cast from the movie have come together for the series so this project has a lot of potential.
 Long live Napoleon. 

Plus I'm training to become a cage fighter.

The Lonely Island

I can't believe they have released a sophomore album!! This is too much haha. I've been very nerdy about The Lonely Island from the very beginning... total lonely island hoooch BUT I'm sorry nothing will ever beat some of the tracks on Incredibad. Its just so crazy how their  meaning of fun is releasing an album with some sick features on it!!! (Rihanna, Snoop, JT and Nicki Minaj) WEL JEL. Check it out, the album is very appropriately called Turtleneck & Chain, just because it can be called that ha!

This American Life

So last summer a friend of mine recommended to subscribe to the 'This American Life' podcast. I had heard really great things about it and it was always the number one most subscribed to podcast on itunes so it had to be good. 

Well it was the best thing I have ever subscribed to.

The stories they cover range from financial debates, to current affairs to something as mundane as activities at a rest stop (turns out, not so mundane). Their reporting is so engrossing that I count down the days till the next one comes out (it's a weekly thing). Their last one covered the immense American tradition that is THE PROM. I learn something every week from it & I look forward to my morning walks to uni when I can listen to This American Life.

If you're into podcasts this is one you won't regret subscribing to!!!!

Ahhh errrbody listen up!! This is my friend Nyne Dymondz thats right with a z on the end. That alone just shows how hood he is.

Anyway, ever since a long time ago this guys been writing his own rhymes and recording his stuff. Back in the day he won the talent show wit dem lyriczz inniit. I was lucky enough to be present for his first track... life is a bitch like you... CLASSIC. haha. Well one things for sure, he's certainly upped his game since then.

The important things in life...

Today was a day full of interesting thoughts however, this thought has stuck on my mind...

What would should/would you not economize on?

I have (very wisely) compiled the following list:

• First and foremost, I would NEVER economize on ketchup. Screw generic brand, nothing beats the taste of good old Heinz.

• I should NEVER economize on TP (toilet paper)... nonetheless, I am a poor student and the good stuff costs about the equivalent of two (or more) home cooked meals therefore I am cursed with the sand papery stuff. Sad faaace.

• Nothing does the job quite like LISTERINE. Love that shiiiii. Went to poundland and found myself a big bottle for a pound the other day. Well 'appy with miself iniii. Now thats what I call a find.

• It is never worth saving a few pound/euros/dolla dolla bill y'all on cheap detached headphones. Seriously, whenever I made this mistake they stopped working within hours. Totally not worth it PLUS they're meant to be so terrible for your ears

While we are on the subject of headphones.... how on Earth do they manage to get so tangled and knotted in a matter of what seems like seconds. Like literal knots that you have to unplug your headphones to untangle. Someone please answer me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of lifes big questions....

Coca Cola

I know Coca Cola is the biggest brand on this planet and its brand name alone is worth something like $65 billion BUT why doesn't their Diet Coke and Coca Cola light taste the same? Am I the only person who feels like they taste like totally different drinks?


I was mostly brought up in Spain where I be sippin' on that coca cola light (in my best cateto accent) so when I moved here to England it was a little shock to the system when I drank this so called Diet Coke. I noticed the same thing when I drank it in the US too. Am I just being a coke snob? Weird. 


....Thoughts? Anyone even interested? Didn't think so.

Lady Gaga

I love Lady Gaga, I don't know why people love to hate on Lady G, but I have always thought she is an amazing performance artist. You can tell she works her butt off and that she is so involved in the whole creative process of her ever expanding brand. Check out her new video for 'Judas'

One day

So a few months ago I read David Nicholls 'One Day' it was a great novel which I highly enjoyed... until the end. I think he gave up and just ended the book abruptly. The ending was such an anti climax and ruined the whole book for me. ANYWAY, I was youtube surfing trailers (as you do) and I came to the trailer for the movie. I didn't even know they made one?! With Anne Hathaway as Emma, the lead role, don't get me wrong I love Anne Hathaway but.... LOLZZZ at her attempt at an english accent. I could have done a better job than her and thats saying a lot! Poor girl is going to get ripped to shreds. 

On a more positive note, Aziz is the funniest indian guy around (with Mindy Kaling of course)

Bin Laden is long gone.

After just under 10 years of being numero 1 on the global most wanted list Osama Bin Laden has been brought down by an operation conducted by the US military. The leader of al Qaeda was busted in a compound in northern Pakistan and the US also have possession of his body (so we know he's really dead).


Anyway check out President Obamas speech as he reveals to his nation that they have killed their number one enemy. He remains so cool and collected, not even a sneaky smile... I don't know about you but, I'd be doing cartwheels from happiness if I finally got the number one terrorist in the world. Apparently theres a massive street party going on in DC in front of the White House & on the Mall where the people are chanting "USA, USA, USA!" haha crazy Americans.

Whatever happened to that $25m dollar reward for capturing him? LOLZ.

Happy Labour Day

Happy Labour day to all you hard workers out there!

Last month, I experienced what it would be like to be a hard worker as I worked my butt off on a 6 week fundraising campaign for my university. Boy, it was the hardest job I've done yet, can you imagine calling a graduate out of the blue, chit chat for 5 mins, then ask them to start a direct debit with you? YIKES. 


This time last year, I was in New York hanging out with my bestie for 3 months and I specifically remember that the city was completely empty. No one stays there for labour day weekend and it was awesome, felt like we owned the town haha, however, there was an awesome party happening in Central Park. Can't believe that was a year ago already, I miss NY :(
