My heart is broken and I am so saddened by this whole Oscar Pistorious tragedy. It truly is a tragedy. I feel like a 'hero' has fallen. Mixed emotions; did he do it? Was it a freak accident? We as a society are so good at placing these human beings up on a pedestal and forget that they are capable of making mistakes (big ones at that). We often feel let down by celebrities and sportspeople because we have these insane expectations of them.
I can't stop following the live updates from the journalists in the courtroom (nuts that so much press is allowed in there?!) when the hearings are on. Intense, in my head its all going down movie style in there.
Anyway, from the bottom of my heart I hope it really was unintentional. Then again, I had full faith in Lance Armstrong and look what happened there- let down m8. Its all just a little too crazy and sad for me to digest completely at the moment. We'll see what happens.
